Cut through a crusty sourdough loaf without squashing the middle at all, which my old knife always did. The AUS-8 blade feels sturdy and the serrations are sharp enough that I barely have to press down.
Bought this mainly for sourdough, and the serrated edge saws through the hard crust without squashing the crumb at all. The AUS-8 steel feels properly sharp out of the box, and the 10-inch length gives me enough room to cut big round loaves in one pass.
The long 10-inch blade glides through big melons in one pass without squishing anything. The serrations are properly sharp on the AUS-8 edge, and clean-up was easier than I expected for something this size.
