The magnetic strip on the block holds each knife securely, so nothing rattles around when I grab one mid-cooking. The five blades cover everything from bread to paring duty, and the two extra tools actually get used more than I expected.
The chef's knife feels nicely weighted in my hand, and the included sharpening tool has kept it razor-sharp through two weeks of heavy chopping. Five knives covers everything I actually cook, and the block fits neatly in my shallow drawer.
The santoku handles the bulk of my weekly veg prep and the pinch grip feels natural right out of the box—no awkward break-in period. The five knives cover every task I throw at them, and the two extra tools are a nice bonus I didn't expect to use as often as I do.
